Viega system press tools can be used with all metallic Viega press systems as well as for Geopress and PE‑Xc press systems.
The innovative press rings with hinged adapter jaw allow pressings in hard-​to-​access spaces as well as in shafts and pre-​wall constructions.
The functional safety and permanent leak tightness of the Viega press systems primarily depends on the functional and operational safety of the Viega system press tools, i.e. the Viega press machine plus Viega system press jaw, ring, chain, and hinged adapter jaw. The Viega system press tools have been specifically designed for and adapted to the installation of the Viega press systems. Viega does not check whether these system press tools can be used for pressing other manufacturers' systems. In particular, no statement can be made on whether it is possible to create permanently leakproof connections in this way.
Maintenance tips for Viega system press tools:

  • System press machines
Viega system press machines generate a specified pressure for the pressing process. To guarantee operational safety, a leak-​free hydraulic system is required; however, natural wear and tear on such heavily used components is unavoidable. To ensure the continuous operational safety and reliability of the system press machines, these must be maintained regularly. Usually, tools are sent for maintenance to the service points named by Viega, or maintained on the occasion of local promotions at service points at the specialist wholesaler's.
  • System press jaws, chains, ring and hinged adapter jaws
It is recommended that the system press jaws, chains and rings are also inspected together with maintenance of the system press machines. During the procedure, wear parts are replaced, press jaw contours are revised and the system press jaws, chains and rings are reset. Since 2012, the Viega system press jaws have been provided with maintenance stickers which show the next recommended inspection date.

    Press tools

    Annually changing sticker colour for better distinction. After maintenance, a new sticker will be applied by the Viega service partner.

    Viega system press tools/servicing intervals:
    • Pressgun 5 (DN 15 to 100 / 15–108 mm)
    LED display after 40,000 pressings. Safety shutdown after a further 2,000 pressings – at the latest after 4 years.

    • Pressgun Picco (DN 15 to 32 / 12–35 mm)
    • Pressgun 4B (DN 15 to 100 / 12–108 mm)
    LED display after 30,000 pressings. Safety shutdown after a further 2,000 pressings – at the latest after 4 years.

    • PT3-AH (DN 15 to 32 / 12–108 mm)
    • Picco (DN 15 to 32 / 1235 mm)
    LED display after 20,000 pressings. Safety shutdown after a further 2,000 pressings –at the latest after 4 years.
